And we're gonna be doing that in conjunction with the etrailer.com universal brake controller install kit. It seems like these Kias are pretty popular, especially being used to tow some relatively large trailers around. And if your trailer has brakes on it, whether they be electric or even electric over hydraulic, you're gonna need a way to apply those brakes. more

Hello, neighbors. It's Brad here at etrailer, and today we're taking a look at installing the Redarc Liberty Brake Controller on a 2023 Kia Telluride. Traditional brake controllers are kind of a pain in the butt compared to what's out there today, and that's because they take up a massive area. Generally, you've hit your knees on them before if you've owned them. And with technology, they've been able to make a brake controller very, very small, and that's what Redarc has done. It keeps it nice and clean-looking, especially in something like a Telluride. more

Hi there, Kia owners. Today on your 2022 Kia Telluride, we're gonna be taking a look at and showing you how to install Redarc's Tow-Pro Liberty Trailer Brake Controller. Adding a brake controller to your vehicle will allow you to apply the brakes on a trailer that you're pulling behind you. This is particularly useful when you have a larger, heavier trailer because your vehicle brakes are gonna be doing all the work if your trailer doesn't have any. So you've meant to have that extra three or 4,000 pounds that you're pulling behind you and your vehicle is doing all the stopping. That's gonna cause a lot of extra wear on your brake components. more

Hi there, Kia owners. Today on your 2016 Kia Sorento, we're going to be taking a look at and showing you how to install Tekonsha's Primus IQ Trailer Brake Controller. And this is what our brake controller looks like when it's installed. It's mounted underneath our dash here, which is plenty fine because this can be mounted in a positive, all the way to negative 90 degree angle. So that's a whole 180 degrees of rotation. We're plenty within that here. more

Trailer Brake Controller Installation - 2017 Kia Sportage- Video
Today on our 2017 Kia Sportage, we're going to be installing Tekonsha's Primus IQ Trailer Brake Controller. To help us get this installed, we're also going to be using a universal installation kit for trailer brake controllers.This brake controller's going to provide you with proportional braking for your trailer. What this means is that the internal inertia sensor is going to detect stopping in the vehicle to help apply the brakes appropriately to stop the load as necessary. Located on top of your brake controller, you'll have a boost button, and you can use this to help adjust on the fly for the weight of your trailer. A boost of one setting is for a trailer that weighs less than your vehicle. Boost two is for when it weighs roughly the same as your vehicle, and boost three is when your trailer weighs more than what your vehicle weighs. more

Trailer Brake Controller Installation - 2016 Kia Sorento- Video
Today on our 2016 Kia Sorento, we're going to be taking a look at installing the Hopkins InSIGHT Flex-Mount trailer brake controller, part #HM47297 and we're going to use it in conjunction with the universal installation kit for trailer brake controllers, part #ETBC7. So here's what our brake controller looks like fully installed. It's going to be a three piece system compiled of our display here, our flex control box right here and finally the Smart-Box, which I have mounted under our dash. Now how this is going to be different from most traditional brake controllers is this is going to be a three piece system, so it's going to be very versatile and you're going to be able to mount these almost wherever you want. Now this is a proportional brake controller. What that means is, it's going to activate our trailer brakes based on how hard we're activating our brakes in our vehicle and since it's not a timed delay, there's not going to be any pause or delays. It's going to take the adjustment and send it to our trailer based on how fast or how slow we're coming to a stop. more

Trailer Brake Controller Installation - 2003 Kia Sedona- Video
Today on our 2003 Kia Sedona well be installing the ETBC7 brake controller install kit and our Tekonsha Prodigy P3 brake controller, part number 90195. Well first need to disassemble the interior of the vehicle to gain access to the wiring. Our first step will be removing the rear threshold. To do this well remove the fastener caps. Once we have the fastener caps out of the way we can then go ahead and remove the Phillips screws fastening the rear threshold. Once we have those out of the way well go ahead and set the threshold aside for reinstallation later. more

Trailer Brake Controller Installation - 2008 Kia Sedona- Video
Today, on our 2008 Kia Sedona, well be installing the Draw-Tite Brake Controller, part number 5100. Well be connecting with our ETBC-7 install kit. Well also be using the Tow-Ready Universal Mounting Bracket, part number 18136. Our first step will be assembling the 7-pole mounting bracket to the 7-pole connector. Well be using the hardware provided with our install kit. With that completed, we can now go ahead and connect the 7-pole bracket to the tow ready universal mounting bracket. more
